The Calgary Gators have been a part of the Alberta Football League since 1998. Making it the second longest running team currently in the league. In the Gators inaugural year the team had an undefeated season winning the AFL Championship, along with winning their second AFL title in 2013. The Gators have been a strong club with a solid core from the beginning making the championship final a total of 9 times.
While having one of the strongest programs in the league the Gators have only Claimed the 2 titles, but continue to be a formidable contender each season. With key additions in 2009 from a strong group of young talent coming in the team has grown in it’s identity. The team has in recent years started to take on a leading role in the league with more community involvement and charitable fundraising. The Gators work with Inn From The Cold family shelter and Wounded Warriors Canada. The partnership with both charities started in 2013 and to date the Gators have donated over $6,000 combined.
The Calgary Gators continue to work hard both on and off the field to provide a program that encourages commitment, hard work, and a good environment for young men
